RULES OF SCRAMBLE
Players are divided into threesomes or foursomes
of equal ability.
1. Each team contributes $24.00 to the kitty. (4-some-$6/man, 3-some-$8/man
2. Each member tees off. Each member then hits the second
shot from the
spot of the BEST tee
shot. Single best ball is then played for each subsequent shot including putts.
3. BALL PLACEMENT: Ball may be moved up to 1 club length, but
no closer to the hole,
and not from rough to fairway, or fringe to green.
4. Scores are kept only as +/- par.
5. There will be 3 money prizes for the 18 holes.
1.
Low Score (most under par): 60% of the pot
2. 2nd Low Score: 30% of the pot.
3. 3rd Low Score: 10% of the pot
4. If there are 4 teams or less,
there will 2 prizes of 60% and 40%.
6. SCRAMBLE TEAMS WITH 3 GOLFERS: The extra shot
must be rotated on each hole. Each
must
take the extra shot on a total of 6 holes, 3 on the front 9 and 3 on the back 9.
DOGMEATS
The entry fee for the dogmeats is $1.00 for each par 3 hole. Most courses have
4 par 3 holes so the dogmeat fee is $4.00.
Therefore the total individual entry amount for the scramble and dogmeats is $12 per man for 3-somes, and $10 for
4-somes.
On rare occasions there may
be a group that is not not in the SCRAMBLE, but are in the DOGMEATS.
If a player in a SCRAMBLE group is closest to the pin for DOGMEAT, he must spot the ball and putt first for
the birdie. If he makes the putt it is a birdie for the DOGMEAT and the SCRAMBLE. If he misses the putt his ball
must be spotted OR he can finish the hole. Others in the group then putt from his original spot for the birdie
in the SCRAMBLE. If all miss but are closer they finish the SCRAMBLE, and he then putts for the par in the DOGMEAT.
For 3-man scramble teams, only the FIRST DRIVE by the golfer getting an extra shot will count in the DOGMEAT.
To win a dogmeat a golfer MUST be CLOSEST to the hole AND PAR the
hole.
If he does NOT PAR, his MARKER REMAINS. Golfers
in following groups MUST get closer to the hole than the MARKER to try for the dogmeat.
DOGMEATSARE AN INDIVIDUAL EFFORT.
MOST TEAMS HAVE GOTTEN IN THE HABIT OF SHARING DOGMEAT WINNINGS NO MATTER WHICH MEMBER OF THE TEAM WON THE DOGMEAT ....
HOWEVER, IT IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE FOR AN INDIVIDUAL
TO ANNOUNCE, PRIOR TO TEE-OFF,
THAT HE WISHES TO KEEP THE ENTIRE AMOUNT IF HE WINS A DOGMEAT. IN SUCH A CASE, HE WOULD NOT SHARE WHEN ANOTHER MEMBER OF HIS TEAM
WINS A DOGMEAT.
