WE HAVE A PROPOSAL TO CHANGE FROM A
SCRAMBLE TO A SHAMBLE DURING THE
SUMMER.
WE'LL TRY IT ON JULY 2, AND SEE
WHETHER WE WANT TO USE IT, OR GO
BACK TO A SCRAMBLE.
SHAMBLE RULES
1. Par 3 - Everyone plays their own ball from
the Whites. The 2 lowest scores are recorded. If a
golfer gets the extra shot, only the 1st shot counts
toward the dogmeat money.
2. Par 4 - Age 70 and older hit from the Reds.
All players play from the best drive. Everyone then
plays their own ball. Lowest 2 scores are recorded.
3. Par 5 - Age 70 and older hit from the Reds. All
players play a scramble. One score is recorded.

SCRAMBLE
Players are divided into threesomes or foursomes of equal ability.
1. Each team contributes $12.00 to the kitty. (4-some-$3/man, 3-some-$4/man
2. Each member tees off. Each member then hits the second shot from the
spot of the BEST tee shot. Single best ball is then played for each subsequent shot including putts.
3. Scores are kept only as +/- par.
4. There will be 3 money prizes for the best front nine, back nine,
and 18-hole finish. Each money prize will be 1/3 of the kitty.
5. SCRAMBLE TEAMS WITH 3 GOLFERS: The extra shot must be rotated
on each hole. Each must take the extra shot on a total of 6 holes, 3 on the front 9 and 3 on the back 9.
DOGMEATS
Some groups are not in the SCRAMBLE, but are in the DOGMEATS.
If a player in a SCRAMBLE group is closest to the pin for DOGMEAT,
he must spot the ball and putt first for the birdie. If he makes
the putt it is a birdie for the DOGMEAT and the SCRAMBLE. If he
misses the putt his ball must be spotted OR he can finish the hole.
Others in the group then putt from his original spot for the birdie
in the SCRAMBLE. If all miss but are closer they finish the SCRAMBLE,
and he then putts for the par in the DOGMEAT. For 3-man scramble
teams, only the FIRST DRIVE by the golfer getting an extra shot will
count in the DOGMEAT.
To win a dogmeat a golfer MUST be CLOSEST to the hole AND PAR the hole.
If he does NOT PAR, his MARKER REMAINS. Golfers in following groups
MUST get closer to the hole than the MARKER to try for the dogmeat. |
